we haven't stayed at any military campgrounds yet, but will soon. We have a couple of recommendations for Corps of Engineers and State Parks so far:

Stop #1 - East Bank COE - Chattahoochee, FL (look for the listing in the Georgia section of the COE book). Stayed in spot #3 right on the lake. Watch out for the ants! If you have Golden Age/Golden Access (can't remember what they call the new ones) it's half price! $8 per night.
Stop #2 - Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, AL - they gave us a 15% discount for being DAV. $15 per night, right on the lake. (Lake Martin)
Stop #3 - Corinth Rec Area National Forest Service - Double Springs, AL - 1/2 price with Golden Access Card - $14. Swimming area closed. Lake too low.
Stop #4 - Trace State Park, MS. $14 per night with discount DAV. Nice, peaceful park on small lake near Tupelo, MS.
Stop #5 - Tunica, MS (couldn't resist!) Free site for 2 nights (just call and ask if you have a players club card.
Stop #6 - Lake Hamilton RV Park, Hot Springs, AR - $18 per night (not right on the lake) site 26. No trees. Close to everything. (Where we are now)

Next Stop #7 - Hickory Creek COE Park - Lake Dallas, Denton, TX (Lake Lewisville). 1/2 price with Golden Age/Golden Access card. $8 per night. A bit tricky to get to, but great once you get in and get settled.

We're half way to California. We're taking a detour to visit relatives in AR & TX.
We will update the military campgrounds on the proper forums. Just wanted to share this with anyone who's new that it might help.
We're traveling in a 2004 Country Coach 33' (Big Blue) and towing a 2003 Ford Focus x5 (Little Whitey).
