Hi,
My name is Edward Dahlgren, retired Air Force and am new to this site and full time RVing. I am planning a trip to visit my family in Michigan, and the last time I traveled through I-80 to the east coast, I ran into a lot of icy and slushy roads in my car which met with disastrous results because I wasn't prepared to travel on these type of conditions. I do not want to repeat this scenario with my Class A. Can anyone tell me when is the best time to travel I-80 from the west coast to Michigan? Any and all inputs will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Ed

Welcome Ed!
Other than stating the obvious (travel in the summer), I don't travel the northern states in the winter. Perhaps someone else will have good feedback.l

We have experienced a closed I-80 through parts of Wyoming in late April. Keep your travel plans between mid-May and mid-October and you should be good to go.
