In early 2003 we sold everything and hit the road. Since then we have never been in one place for more than four months at a time and have more than 70,000 miles on our TV. Last summer we made a 14 state loop in four months. We have stayed in pastures, State Parks, Corps of Engineer Parks, Casino Parks and city parks just to name a few. We are always planning our next trek. We have every kind of map and campground directory we can find. We belong to almost everything. We have never stayed at a Wal Mart. We carry a big blueboy and a Honda 2000 Gen. for the really out of the way places. We compute with a cell phone or on WiFi when available. We have stayed at RV parks that actually have gray water hookups. We are experts with a dish ant. and can find a signal in the very heavy trees. We are in SC right now but will be in FL next month then it's back to SC to get ready for our summer venture into New England. If you are not thinking about the next move you may not be a fulltimer.

Hey Eagle,
You guys really do get around don't you. I never really thought about it but yes, we are always thinking two stops ahead and use all of the resources we find available to us. I am wondering why you have never used a Wal*Mart. They really want us to use their facilities because when we do we spend our grocery and wardrobe budget there. Whenever we find that parking is not allowed in their parking lot we find out that it is the local laws usually pushed by the campground owners who can't understand that fulltimers aren't campers. We only use them while enroute and never spend more than a day. Don't misunderstand, I am not condemning you for not using Wal*Mart, but given your penchant for covering miles it would seem natural to use them from time to time.
See ya down the road,
Glenn
PS--I have never met anyone on the Permanent Disability Retired List. Everyone I have ever known who was put on the Temporary Disability Retired List got dumped when the statutory time was up (except for the one guy who went back on active duty). What's your secret--I would dearly love to get out of the VA system.

We are also "want-a-be'ers", however we travel on adverage 20K miles per year. With kids in New Mexico, Louisiana and Wisconsin. And family in Arizona, Texas and Virginia we tend to get around.
We never stay at Wall-Marts or Flying J's. We find it a little more private in a church parking lot, with permission first, or Moose Lodge (member) parking lots or even hospital lots. By the way Moose Lodges give members water & electric if asked.

We have lived fulltime in our motorhome for 5 years. We did not sell our house, but rented it out to a young women from our church. So I don't know what you would call us. Our worldly goods are contained in our motorhome (husband would say, weighing it down) He has a rule something in something out. Though we pay taxes on a home, we have not live there. So maybe we are fulltiming with a back up.

You answered your own question in the first 10 words. You are fulltimers with an investment.

For the last two years we have lived only in the rig parked on my land where we are building a house one brick at a time. We have an extended 3 month trip planned this summer and get out at least once a month to camp with our kids who also own an RV.
So I quess we could be called full timer/extented traveler/part timers. ???
