hello,
my son is in navy boot camp and will be going to master at arms school. not too familiar with this rate having been a lifer in the marines. i assume this is like the military police on a marine base? also i am hearing that the rate is changing given the geo political situation. can any one give me some insight?
thanks,

Looks like they have expanded that rate a lot in the last 15 years. When I was in MAA's were mostly Prison or Jail guards, and Military Police were made up of a combination of different Engineering rates, Cooks (Read Seals), and MAA's were mostly Police admin, not actual security.
Then again 15 years ago a lot of the bases I was stationed at had either unarmed private security, or E-2's awaiting school or orders at the gate.
Sounds like things are a little better for the MAA's these days.
