Propane

Went in a couple weeks ago to the local refill (not an MCG) -- paid $18 for a #20 propane tank ...
Went back this week -- price $21 ... so I made the comment "$3.00 a gal in a week". She shrugged and said, well you know, it's all going up... so, I thought that was a ridiculous statement because now finally, fuel is actually going down for a change.
But, it seems the catch-all phrase - petro products are going up - is used whether it's true or not ... and so I just wanted to release some 'gas stress' with a "rant' here ... seems like people think it's okay as long as they have an response, even if it's inaccurate

What gets me is that it'll go up a dollar and come down .10 cents!!

On Tuesday of this week, I paid $22.63 for 20 lb. and 32.43 for 30 lb. cylinders. I also filled up my home tank for $2.45 per gal. Fortunately, I burn wood in an outdoor furnace so I don't use much LP gas.

And Mad Dog hit the nail -- goes up a bunch - like a dollar (not just fuel, but anything, groceries too) and then the station or market makes a big deal a month later when the price drops 10 or 20 cents. Like we're supposed to applaud when they take a bow ...
Problem is, we (some of us) see it and recognize it for what it is ... marketing, generally, although there is some real inflation of price going too, always is -- but we have no way to exert any influence when that happens ... one person alone and the company don't care much...
When I had a problem with a local vendor, his "phone tree" answers, and does nothing. SO, I dropped the service ... and the "phone tree' guy says, "so what, we got 300,000 customers" -- actually said that on the phone too ... then over the next few months spent more phone-time tyring to get me back than it would have taken to fix the problem in the beginning ...
Now, if we had a hundred people quit at once, then a company will take notice, but one is too much of a pain for the $$$ ... it's volume they care about now, never service.
