I have heard of a lot of talk on this subject. I drive a MH with Florida plates on it, using my brother in laws address in Florida, and pulling my toad with Mo. plates on it, as that is where we live most of the time and own a home. I have heard of and seen people who have a drivers licenses in one state and also have one for Fla. that says in Fla. only on it. My insurance uses the Fla address for purposes of the MH.
What my question is can anyone tell me what is legle to do in this case? Do I need a Fla. driver licenses with in Fla. only on it or what?

As explained to me by a police officer (friend) ... The Tri-state driving restriction.

If you are in any state driving vehicle registered in that state then you can drive it with any valid license from any state.

If you're driving a vehicle in any state with a registration from a different state, then you must have a drivers license from the state where that vehicle is registered, or a license from the state you're driving in at the time.

Tri-state restriction: IF you have a MS license and a vehicle registered in Florida, you can only drive it legally in Florida or MS ... If you have a MS license and a Florida registration on a vehicle, when you are driving in Alabama, for example, then you are not legal because you have entered the Tri-state domain.

I believe this to be true - but would verify this somewhere in Florida or your home state.

After posting this yesterday, I called the Fla. DMV to inquire. I found out that Fla. wants you in Fla. and don't care how your vehicle is registered or where it is registered. As long as you have insurance on it. If it is registered in Fla. then you have to have fla. insurance. I inquired about the license called In Fla. only, and found out that in 2010 that licenses will not be issued anymore. It was only good to be used in Fla. anyway. They say that it is legal to drive your MH or vehicle in any state with Fla. plates and another states Driver Licenses. I plan to call my insurance company to inquire what they require if anything specific.

Did they mean any other state when you have a license from the state you're IN ... remember to ask if you have a Fl plate and a MS license, and are an ANY OTHER state, are you driving legally.

My buddy said that Tri-state law is old, might not still be in force, and might not be in every state.
