What a tragedy at Ft Hood today, 11/5. I was stationed there in 1960-62. I had no idea then, nor did I have any idea that Ft Hood is the largest military base in the world. How could something like this happen? 7 killed and 20 wounded. 3 shooters. Could they have been combat shocked soldiers or outsiders getting on the base and doing this? I am totally shocked and quite frankly, very upset that this happened. They need to put real MPs back on the gates and patrol the base(s).

I am so sorry, and have been praying for the families. I just hope that this incident will bring about changes, not only at the gate.
This person, who happened to be Muslim, was sending out red flags like crazy. Even though fellow soldiers complained, it went on death ears. One of the news stations, mentioned it may of been about political correctness. I would like the people who were responsible for overlooking this, to tell the families who lost love ones, why they didn't do anything. Yes, I know, their are many Muslims in the military who have skills (language), who have been needed. The problem is, when someone has the profile, and people around see problems, forget about hurting feelings, and take care of it!! Yes, I know there were horror stories during WWII about interment camps and that is certainly going to far, but we should be vigilant, and listened to, when concerns present themselves. There has to be a happy medium, though I hate to use the word happy.
