Break down in rain ...

Was on my way through Alabama and Georgia during those rain and wind storms couple days ago - and, unfortunately, had a breakdown ... and just as fortunately, got AAA out there to get me on the road again in a couple hours.

But, in the meantime, got a call and email from Sarge and his buddies at Ft Gordon, and a offer to come out (more than seventy miles one way), and assist with a tow and/or a ride ...

So, I want to at least acknowledge that offer right here, where that began and made it possible ... And thanks all, Rich especially, for his assistance in checking out the repair ... (Notice I didn't use the word "W..k on my truck" which will keep Rich healthy)

Once I got on the road, I stopped and chatted with these folks for the afternoon, and then continued on to Jacksonville.

But this site, and the ability to meet new friends makes both the visits and the assistance available ... So thanks again for the offer, and nice to meet you all face2face ... M44

Glad to hear you got fixed and back on the road. The weather in Jax the next few days should be great. Tomorrow is the football game billed as the "Largest Cocktail Party" the Florida, Georgia Game. I agree this website is a tremendous resource for all of us. The one thing that puzzles me is that the forums really don't get that much participation. I frequently notice that there are a large number of guests browsing the board and only a few members. If you're a guest and just looking around, register and participate!

Have to agree on the number of guests browsing - right now it is showing 140 guests and only two users. Don't know why folks are resistive to joining.

I don't know why more folks don't join up here. It's a great resource and a fantastic community. We don't bite until we get to know you better. Maybe they're shy? :blush:

I'm guessing some aren't even aware of what forums are or do... Because I talk to a lot of people that do not even know forums exist - and the military community is smaller than other 'forums' - like RV.net - so, would have even less that know. Don't know how to increase that knowledge, but it certainly is a great resource ...
