Those of us who us a GPS probably know that we can't 100% trust the directions given by our GPS. Especially when driving a larger RV. The GPS will usually try to take us the shortest or fastest route to our final destination. However, this may not be the "correct" route for our larger RV. More specifically, the GPS may not take you to the proper installation gate to be used by RV's.
I've added a new category for "RV Gate GPS Coordinates", which will be listed under the LOCATION information when viewing a Military Campground or RV Park's information listing. Using these correct coordinates to the proper RV gate will help us follow our GPS a bit better.
Currently, very few listings have this information listed. The RV Gate GPS Coordinates will be listed as I get them. You can help by sending me any coordinates you already have for the proper RV Gate to use when entering a military installation to access their campground or RV Park. The form to "Submit Facility Updates" (found in your User Menu on the right column) has been updated to ask for this information. Over time, we'll start to get more listings with this valuable information.
This information will also be included in a future update of the U.S. Military Campgrounds Directory software. This idea was submitted by a few users. Thanks!
