Dryer sheets and Splendide Dryers was created by utmtman
I read something in another group about dryer sheets clogging filters on dryers. Anyone know anything about that.
Second we have a splendide washer/dryer combination and saw nothing in the paper work on not using the dryer sheets but someone said there was, can anyone enlighten us.
Also does anyone know of a filter location on a splendide cuz we sure cant find one and did not see anything on it in the paperwork.
Thanks for any assistance

I use my Spendide washer/dryer all the time. The reason it recommends fabric softener rather than dryer sheets is that you need the fabric softener to separate the clothes during the rinse/spin cycle so that they dry better. In addition, if you use the complete wash and dry cycle, you don't have to stop and reopen the unit before drying. Tips from other users: great for very small loads, socks, wash cloths, small towels, kitchen towels, underwear, etc. Not so hot for permanent press. One pair of jeans is ok, but no more. Not good for sheets. T-shirts separately and only a few at a time, then take them out right away or they will wrinkle!

Our on board washer/dryer is an extra weight, space hogging, two hour hassle, emergency system designed to keep us from going naked?nothing more.
The absolute best use of dryer sheets has nothing to do with washing clothes. They are fantastic for removing bugs from the front of your rig.
Grab a couple of dryer sheets and liberally wet them. Then wipe over the bug residue on the front of the rig. All of the bugs will come off quickly and easily without any scrubbing.
The dryer sheets will leave a film on the paint surface so it is important to take a hose and rinse it after you?ve gotten rid of the bugs.

We are learning slow but sure. Only had the unit a couple of months and its better than going to the laundrymat every week.

In my present motorhome I have a vented washer/dryer and there is no filter. My last coach was a condensing washer/dryer and I had a small door to a removable filter on the bottom right. Maybe this will help you with the filter question. If you do have the condensing one clean out the filter after you are done with all the loads and be careful when you open it as some water will come out so I always held a plastic cup there to catch the water or it will go on the floor for you. The lint is collected in there and will be wet. Also just a note about the dryer, on the condensing one if you have that one. You must keep your spigots open when drying as some water goes into the dry cycle to help remove wrinkles. I love my vented washer/dryer and always remove the clothes when the wash cycle is done. I shake them out and then put on the dry cycle, makes quite a difference with wrinkling. I found using softener does not make much difference. Removing the clothes works better for me.
