Duplicate Webname

Hey -- you tech wizards -- I'm in a MCG now and when I open my browser on WIFI, a little window opens off the taskbar and inside says "Duplicate name on the web network" -- does anyone know what that means.

The paranoid part of me wonders if this is possibly another site trying to duplicate my information to get into my banking -- I mean, who knows about this stuff ... I'm pretty web-stupid with the technical parts. I have virus up and firewall too, but just the basic protections, like most other 'normal non-tech' people. And then again, don't want to over-react to simple stuff either.

No Idea what that means, if you find out, post a follow up.

Sounds to me like he was logged on to a park wi-fi system that required a login. He probably got dumped off of the system or rebooted his computer or something but his wi-fi session did not get terminated so when wireless reconnected and he tried to log back in he gets the "duplicate" error.

Yaeh -- I'm in a MCG that has WIFI (Three booster antennas) - and when I climb up on the system, it tells me there's two of me out there ... but is says "windows error" - so that must not be an external 'get me guy' out trying to get in. So, I'll ignore it for now and keep my eyes on my 'stuff' ...
