MPG 5th wheel or T.T was created by oldman
OK this might be a little off the wall but here goes.
My tow tk is a 05 F250 6.0L Dis. B)
Will there be any diff. in my MPG pulling a 5er or a T.T.
giving that they are the same wt..
Will I get better MPG with one over the other?

I would GUESS that the FW would have greater wind resistance with the large front "sail area" and therefore use more fuel, but I would also GUESS that the difference is very small (perhaps insignificant).

I agree but after 3 years trailer and 5th wheel designs have changed for the better areodynamics and frame construction with lighter material, but if pulling a trailer add a truck cap and a small spoiler which may help with the trailer towing.

i will say this
I towed a 30 foot tt behind a ford f350 crew cab dually 7.3 4.10 rear gears
i was lucky to get 8 mpg towing

then we aquired a 40 foot fiver monster
i gained 2 mpg pulling it at the same speed

then i acquired a 2006 f350 crew cab dually with a 6.0
with 4.30 rear gears same fiver i achieved 12-13 at 65

but pulling my 14 foot enclosed cargo bumper pull trailer the mpg would drop to 9-10
i think the air flowed much better around the fiver than the bumper pull
