One of our favorites is the Blue Ridge Parkway from Front Royal, Virginia to Cherokee, NC...about 450 or so with no commercial vehicles or red lights. We rode it with another couple on motorcycles in early July and took three days to complete. Could have spent several more since there is so much to see. Would love to ride it in late September or early October and catch the changing leaves.
Another terrific area is the Mt Rushmore area of SD. Needles Hwy, Custer SP, The Badlands, just to name a few beautiful areas. Neither of these areas are places I would really want to pull a large camper, but some folks do.
