Camp Host Needed at Smith Lake, Fort Bragg, NC was created by larryf
Camp Host at the Smith Lake RV park. Smith Lake Recreation Area is located 30 min off of Interstate I95, Exit 58. Enjoy the tranquil setting of our camp ground, lake and park in the midst of our long leave pine forest. Before and After hours POC for the park. RV space included. April through October (minimum commitment 3 month) Work will be approximately 25 hours a week. Host campsite offers full RV hook-up (electricity 50amp, water and sewer), picnic table and fire ring General Conditions:
- Applicants should be affiliated with the Armed Forces (ID card holders)
- Must possess excellent customer service relation skills
- Ability to communicate tactfully in attending to the needs of guests
- Must possess experience related as described above
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must complete background check to include a National Agency Check General Duties
- Abides by the Installation and Organization Mission, Vision and Goals
- Performs customer service relations work that contributes toward the well-being of guests and the protection and safety of other employees and government property.
- Enforces applicable rules and standards.
- Maintains prescribed area in a clean and orderly manner.
Detailed Duties
- Greets and assists guest. Must wear applicable uniform.
- Performs check-in/check-out of camp ground patrons
- Collects ICE comment cards and assists management in improving facility and operating procedures to ensure high-levels of customer satisfaction (green rating)
- Conducts daily camp ground checks, cross references reservation reports and annotates discrepancies.
- Performs self-help maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment
- Informs management of necessary work orders that cannot be completed through self-help
- Maintains cleanliness of camp ground area (clean fire rings, pick up trash and pine cones, pressure washes picnic tables)
- Assists in cleaning bath houses
- Performs routine security checks to ensure buildings, gates and equipment are properly locked or secured. Provides security at designated areas by patrolling the premises to prevent unauthorized access. Inspects grounds for fire, break-in, vandalism or trespassing. Reports incidents to proper authorities and maintains log.
- Familiarizes self with calendar of events in order to inform patrons of scheduled activities.
- Assists in maintaining bike and walking trails.
- Operates a motor vehicle and other electronic and automated equipment
- Completes applicable training as determined by management (i.e. Accident avoidance course, CPR and 1st Aid)

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "Must wear applicable uniform" mean? I retired 15 years ago, and even if I still had them, I couldn't fit into my old uniforms, and I doubt I am alone in that, so I tend to think that phrase means something else.

You have to wear the polo shirt they give you with the logo to identify you as a staff member
