Renewal download problems

Recently I started getting a message saying my subscription was expiring (which later proved to be false). In the process of resubscribing, the software told me that there was an update that I didn't have. So I downloaded and installed the update. I then continued on to the renewal screen. When I tried to pay for subscription, the only icon that was active was the one that I didn't recognise. The Paypal, credit card, and mail-in icons were not active. So I used the unknown one (which turned out to be the Google Wallet). I filled that one out and hit "enter". It never asked me for any payment info, which I thought was strange. The screen went back to the one that requested my name and the renewal number. Since I didn't have them, I checked my e-mail box but there wasn't anything there either. When I closed the program and rebooted it, it opened 2 copies of the software, and both of them were frozen. After using the task manager to close them I just figured that I would wait for an e-mail and logged on to the on-line version, (which recognised me) and completed my work. After a couple of hours with no sign of the subscription renewal I once again went to the renewal screen. This time the other icons were working, so I selected Paypal and payed for the renewal. This time it actually connected to Paypal and I went through the usual procedure and completed the transaction.

The next day I received an e-mail from H-W enterprises giving me the registration number and also telling me that they had actually received two payments and were refunding one of them. I have no idea how Google Wallet is going to get repaid since I don't have an account with them.

Now that I had a registration number I went back to the screen that asked for it, copied it and my name from the e-mail, and completed the screen. I then closed the software and reopened it. Lo and Behold, the stupid software opened 2 copies and froze. This is where I need help! What is my next step. I need this software working even when I'm not on-line!
