When will you have software ready for the new Garmin Basecamp program? Thanks for all your great work!

Never heard of it, but I don't study all new technology. I'll look into it. However, the "Generic Comma Separated Value" mapping data file can probably be used. There's usually a way to import this generic text file.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

It's a free trip planning software package from Garmin Larry. I've been trying out for the last week or so, and so far it looks like it might be a keeper!
When you first set it up, hook your Garmin GPS to your computer and it will import your maps and POIs from the device. You can also directly import a POI file that you have on your computer. For some reason though, it won't take your .gpx database...it reports an error. It WILL however take the Garmin Mapsource database (.gdb?) with no problems.
It seems a little awkward to use (although that might be just a learning curve on my part), but supposedly you can plan your trip with all your stops and upload it directly to your Garmin GPS. I'll let you know after I get to that point and see the results! LOL

I've downloaded it, but haven't opened it yet. I'll take a look soon.
Thanks for confirming it will accept the Mapsource database (.gdb) file, which is available for download in the FILES area of the website.
