AF frequent camper program was created by OBOne
Hello, I'm interested in getting into the AF frequent camper program. Have been to three AF campgrounds and they all say yes they know about it, but have been unable to get log books in order to utilize it. Can some one provide me with a website or mail address in order to get into this program. Thanks OB (Retired ATC USN)

OB,
There's an article on this website with details on the USAF Frequent Camper Program. For the past year, there's been a GREAT delay in this program. The only way of obtaining a new member packet is from a USAF FamCamp or Outdoor Recreation. You can't purchase them on the web or by mail. Finding a FamCamp that has them is the challenge.
There's a LARGE shortage of the new member packets. The packets include the "book" on Military Campgrounds, which was last published over 3 years ago. The USAF is waiting for the new "book" to be published before providing additional new member packets. Packets are out there, but finding where is the challenge.
I've tried getting the USAF to consider providing the U.S. Military Campgrounds Directory software in the new member packets as an option to the "book". But they also fail to respond to any of my inquiries.
We fear, but hope it's not true, that this program is starting to die a slow death.
(All of the above information is the latest that I know about. Anyone, please set me straight if this is old information).

Good news! At least I know the USAF Frequent Camper Program is still alive!
4 months ago I sent in for my next tier. I FINALLY received the information and "Camper Cash" coupons. I'm sure they're busy, but 4 months????

A guy named Phil Heeg runs the Frequent Camper Program and I had the opportunity to talk to him about 9 months ago when I had the same problem that Larry had. See
this link
for details. It appears that the Frequent Camper Program is one of Phil's collateral duties and let me just say that it is not near the top of Phil's list. Phil's phone number is 210-652-4406 (or it was 9 months ago).
