Additional Fees for More than 2 people per RV was created by daffyduck
I just made reservations at Nellis AFB Famcamp for 4 days in April. I have a 24 foot Minnie Winnie that sleeps 6. There will be 5 adults. I am told that I will be charged $1.00 per day extra because there will be more than 2 people staying in our RV! What the heck???? How about families that travel around the country and want to use famcamps? I used to work part time at Camper Resorts of America in Riverside and I saw many full-timers come in with the big rigs and a ton on grandkids during the summer months. Mind you, I will gladly pay the extra $1.00 as my total bill for 4 days will be less than one night at a hotel. I am just curious. Do other famcamps charge an extra fee for more than two in a RV?

This policy seems to apply more to private campgrounds than the Famcamps we have been to. Just another way to generate revenue without them doing any more work.

Thanks for the reply. This will be our first trip to a famcamp with our RV. I think this is also a "hidden" fee as I don't see it listed anywhere on their website information.

KOA's charge it assuming all are taking showers (use of water, elect). It was painful for me asking a family to pay it. I wish Famcamps would not do this. I also wish they would give disabled vets a 50% off rate. Will not hold my breath for either wish.

Have never heard of that fee at an MCG and we're been traveling all over USA for ten or more years. But, we're two, so ??
Many private CGs charge extra for people, dogs, cats, ??? and that just generates more income.
Far as the discount, the MCGs (most of them) already charge a reasonable rate, and would lose revenue from quite a few DAVs if allowing discounts - I suspect they don't make a ton of money anyway, and when comes in goes to MWR as well. Would rather see the rates stay the same and continue as good value MCGs.

I agree with Mondy44. I can't stay at any other venue one night as cheap as I am getting 4 nights at Nellis FamCamp. I was just curious as to the extra charge, but they should list it in their pricing information as I know there are a lot of RVer's that come in there with more than two individuals in the coach. I don't think anyone would mind paying the extra dollar a day if it was known from the get-go.
