Navy Getaways Reservations System

Have just used the "New" Navy Getaways website to make reservations at El Centro and Seal Beach. Worked well. Did not work for the Admiral Baker campground. I think it's here to stay so encourage military campers to become familiar with it. Also overlaps into the Navy Gateways Inns and Suites (NGIS) website for lodging reservations, which also seems to work well. These reservations sites do not bypass normal restrictions and rules for campground access but avoid phone calls.

I just tried the Getaways Reservation system to reserve December 2013 and January 2014. It showed 7 no hookup site left and would cost over $700 up front to reserve. Something is very wrong here.

What Navy RV Park was the reservation at ?

I tried to reserve at NASKW. It seemed to work and wanted the full amount fir the whole two months which I was not willing to commit to 9 months ahead of time. I then called the RV park office snd they seemed unaware that the reservations were being done that way and said reserving online would not even guarantee a spot. For one thing only active duty can reserve in advance from what I understand. So watchout for Getaway Reservations online.

Thanks - yes, that is correct - we spend lots of time at NASKW and they said when they implemented the new system they would use it for customer information but would still not make reservations (except AD as they always have. Thanks
