Hi my name is Mike and new to this forum and to RV'ing as well
I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if military bases had restrictions for RV's like some of the civilian RV parks do? For instance if I had a 40Ft, would it be a problem?
Thanks for your asistance

Mike, welcome to the Forum....lots of interesting info/conversations in the various sections from some pretty experienced RV'rs. I've never seen a posted size limit restriction at a Mil FamCamp. Some of the FamCamps are tighter that others, so I guess that could be limiting for a 40 ft RV. Check the reviews out for the FamCamps you might be visiting and you can read there if they are big rig friendly. Good luck with your travels!

We find military campgrounds we have visited can accomodate our 45' class A and a tow vehicle. You are correct about some civilian campgrounds having tighter restrictions but military can usually find you a spot for a big rig. If you plan on going to a military installation that does not take reservations it would be in your best interest to call and ask if they can accomodate your size rig as it will save you a wasted trip if they cannot. Most military campgrounds are very friendly when you call and will do whatever they can to find you a site; as we all know by now they want our money.
