Sharpe Travel Camp

Sharpe Travel Camp -- anyone know why this camp closed? Might have missed it, the reason?

Hope it's not a view of our future -- that would be disastrous for all of us who use the MCG's frequently to support our other camping. We use state parks, national parks, COE and MCG almost exclusively. Can't even remember last time I stayed in a private CG ... I'm thinking it was Brownsville TX about five years ago, and a place I was afraid to turn on the water (rusted spigot) or the power (broken plug) at $30 ... one night only and on the road. But it was all that was available in the area ...

I believe the Defense Supply Depot there moved (consolidated) with the supply depot at Tracy, CA.

There were rumors that the Army might remain and keep the campground open, but that didn't happen. I don't know how much longer the Army will stay at the base before they close everything.
