Good morning to all members.
Hopefully someone can answer my question.
Have been told that i need Military Decal (Base Sticker) on window of my RV to access any base campground in the US.
Called around several bases, and some of them say I do and others say I don't???
Does anyone have any information that would clarify this issue.
Appreciate any comments or assistance.
Cheers, John

Most bases stopped using decals, 100% ID check to for entry no more stickers. I have not needed one at AFB, in a few years. Did need one 3 or 4 years ago at Memphis Navy, but I think they have since done away with them. Do a search I think there is a lengthy topic on this. But, I believe most are done using decals. Might be a few still out there.

I have been to several Bases both AF and Army over the past 10 months and none required a decal until I arrived here at Red River Army Depot near Texarkana, Texas. They will issue you a paper one good for 30 days. I got that first and I needed to extend for a few more weeks. They then issued me a base decal that expires in 4 years. So I am back to having a base decal on my truck! I'm OK with that!

Last week I checked with JAX NAS, Jacksonville, Fla (which includes Mayport NS): no longer issue decals.
Same goes for Great Lakes NTC, IL -- no decals.
I was told the Navy no longer issues decals.
Fort Knox, KY does not issue decals.
Same goes for AF.
The bases that still do issue decals are a handful.
If you run into that one base that does still require them then you have two options: 1. Get a temp base pass; or, 2. Just get a decal for that base and that will cover any future bases that may still require them.
DOD wide they are a dying thing. They did nothing to enhance security. and all bases are 100% hands on ID check with the scanner now.

As of last spring, Fort Hood, TX no longer issues stickers to RVs. They do still issue for automobiles/motorcycles.
