Cabins

I know this is a camping forum, but I'm looking for help and not sure how to go about obtaining the info I need. In December I will be in the midst of chemical therapy, but need to get away. Will be cleared for travel then, but not up to camping. Being from the midwest (St Louis, MO) we are looking for a Gulf coast location with warmer weather. A cabin, rather than a motel unit is preferable so we can cook on occasions and possible even BBQ. Our stay would be a week, give or take. Rather not go as far a Tampa, more in the panhandle, and some where near the water. What I want is to find the location, price and availability (reviews & pics would be a plus).

Sorry to hear you are dealing with a medical issue and wish you good health and an enjoyable recovery time. I have one suggestion that you can get all info on line with pics and any questions you could possibly have. Try going into Florida State Parks and the home page has a section just for parks with cabins and go from there. I know the Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa Beach has really nice cabins and there are several State Parks in the Fl. Panhandle that have cabins so good luck.

Re your need for a cabin. In the panhandle of Fl there are cabins on 2 or 3 of the bases. Try looking at Pensacola NAS, and the others. Have used but so long ago dont remember which base. I think it was Eglin afb. Hope this helps .

Gramp, not sure if that is correct but I went in and looked and the best deal is the Blue Angel park in Pensacola as far as rate. There under 50 bux a day and the nas is about 100 bux per day. Hope all works out for you and I will pray for your recovery and comfort during your ordeal.

ccj3rdd, Thanks for the info. I looked into the Blue Angel cabins and they are a nice cheap rate, but would be the same as camping out of our B. "CAMPING CABIN Air conditioned, full-sized bed & linens, fridge & microwave. $40/Day or $240/Weekly (mil) $45/Day or $270/Weekly (DoD)." No mention of bathroom nor shower, etc. . Don't know if the picture will post or not so here's a link Cabin . Think we've narrowed it down to Panama City CSS Family and or Destin Army Infantry Center.
