My wife & I enjoy staying at MWR famcamps as much as possible. This fall we'll be traveling in our motorhome & another couple will be with us pulling their 5th wheel. They are not eligible to stay at famcamps.
I have sponsored friends into a famcamp one other time. That base required me to submit a lot of personal information (ss# for example) at least 10 days before arriving so they could do a complete background check. Not practical when moving every 4-5 days.
In trying to research this subject it seems I would have to call each famcamp office & also base operations since they all seem to have different rules/requirements to get on base & then register in the camp.
Does anyone have knowledge of an easier way to have friends join you in their RV at military famcamps?
You're right! Each location does have their own local policies on how to handle "sponsored guests", if they are even allowed. The rules change frequently. As far as I know, the only option is to call ahead to each location before you decide to go there.
