CAX is a nice FamCamp.
No host now.
Bath rooms were always dirty! So was laundry room.

If you didn't like it you could always pull stakes and go to a resort out in town. You pay 15-20 dollars a night and still want to complain about the people whose house you are in. Get over it.

Dojdokota, $30 per night, no discounts, is not 15 - 20 dollars per night at the RV park.
$85 + is not your 15 - 20 per night either.
Regardless of what a customer pays per night is not the issue. The issue is dirty bath rooms.
There is a expectation of clean properly maintained FamCamp.
Would you pay over $85 per night for a room at Gateway Inns and Suites and not expect clean rooms? and expect that your reservation can be taken care of properly without be jacked around? I don't think so.

How about $276 per night at McChord AFB lodging.
This summer we were at McChord AFB. They jacked the daily room rate up to $276 per night when the PGA was going on.
Back down to, guessing, $90+ ?
The military camp ground rates are going up. Yes you can find a deal out there. But across the board most exceed $20 per night!
I do not care if you pay $5 per night or $500 per night. Give us clean bathrooms and maintain the place.
MWR has turned into a money making business. Simple and sweet.
Does not matter if you are retired, active, guard, reserve, civil service.

I'm sure there are a couple of units out there that are abusing their charter to show a profit, but don't for one minute believe they are a majority. The $276/night for lodging would be an example of gross abuse.
Complain all you want about the higher costs, but it will not change the fact that all the Services functions HAVE to show a profit these days or close up shop.

No, Services (MWR) operates under a 100% self sufficient policy service wide. There are no support funds given to any Non Appropriated Funds (NAF) function. Services (MWR) is a NAF function. All the units under Services (i.e. FamCamp) most show a profit or close their doors.UH1-Vietnam wrote: MWR has turned into a money making business. Simple and sweet.
