Is there any way to check the availability of campsites/cabins for a famcamp without calling, ie. reserveamerica.com? We are planning to be tour the panhandle of Florida and wish to visit/stay at several Famcamps along the way, but want to estimate the availability of sites. Would it be worth while to visit the camp and find it full? I could call each prospective camp and approximate the date of our arrival and check the availability, but was hoping for a simpler way.
Thanks

Sorry, but there is no central system. The only way to find out availability is to call them directly. However, the Navy does have a central reservation system that you can check at this link.

We winter in the FL panhandle, staying at a private park, but found when we first stayed in that area that the only military campground that took reservations was Mid-Bay Shores, Maxwell/Gunter Recreation area. We stayed there for a couple weeks and as noted in the review, the only real drawback was the bridge toll into Destin. Great location - right on the Bay.
