Thanks for the clarification.

You can also find the phone numbers on this site. We also have military campgrounds listed here that are not found on the DoD Lodging site.

Military can't even agree on camouflage patterns - don't hold your breath waiting for them to come up with a common plan for operating military campgrounds!:( :P :woohoo:

I don't know what the problem with the Navy reservation site is, but I've only once been able to make a reservation through them. They usually tell me that there are no sites available for the time period that I want. So I call the CG directly and make my reservation there with no problem. An example: Last year I wanted to go to Los Angeles for a week. The Navy site said there were no sites available at Seal Beach. Called the CG and got a site for 2 weeks, no problem.

I don't like to stay in truck stops or Walmart overnight either. I found that a membership with Passport America really works well. I find a CG near where I'm going to stop the following night, call them, and make a one night reservation for 50% of the normal cost, usually around $15. They are for the most part, older CG's with no amenities, but they're usually close to the highway and are easy to get in and out of. I pull in, hook up my electric, let out my slides, and I'm good for the night. The electric is great when you're traveling in the summer and need A/C!

Have fun on your trip and try not to drive too much each day.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

Only problem I've had with Navy reservations is specifically with Navel support activity annapolis (read my review)

Problem is really Brooke downing, mwr director Navel support activity annapolis...she likes to play dumb games, shell bill you later for days you weren't there to play dumb games only to waste more time energy refunding your money when you file AG complaint, she likes to pick a fight, make drama etc...lady is a atypical wash D.C. suited jerk...she likes the reservation system as it ads a middleman/makes more easy for her to block you outta the campground if she doesn't like you, or you make a fool of her/annapolis support activity mwr as I've done...

Do yourself a solid, go to Andrews or ft Meade, much better faculties...
