Cancellations Policy

I a planning a future trip for beginning from Florida for out West in the Spring of 2018, but as of today, do not have definite dates, thus the reason for the question. I am driving a 30' Motorhome with a Toad.

Does each facility have their own cancellation policy or is there one that is already established.

I am new to an extended travel. I'd like to make reservations at military RV campgrounds, but have the ability to cancel my reservation with small or no cancellation fees. I know that sometimes private campgrounds have a policy that states so many days out, no fee or $5 for processing.

I have also read that my question is moot since some bases do not accept reservations.

Each location will have their own cancellation policy. Only the Navy has a centralized reservation system (which isn't perfect). Even then, I prefer to call the Navy campground directly to make a reservation, not using their 800 number. The other services don't have centralized reservations. As you stated many don't even accept reservations.

Traveling in the West with an RV is so much easier than in the East. Wide open spaces and plenty of places to stop with your RV. Take your time and enjoy your trip!
