Campgrounds Around Lake Thurmond GA/SC and Pointes West Army Rec Area

Haven't seen any posts on camping around Lake Thurmond GA/SC so I thought I would throw this out. 

Due to damage from Hurrican Helene the Points West Army Recreation Area at Lake Thurmond (formerly Clarks Hill) is saying the have "limited camping". I'm not sure what that means so you might want to call them if you were coming this way.

"The Corps of Engineers campgrounds at Lake Thurmond (also known as J. Strom Thurmond Dam and Lake) are currently closed due to extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene, and are expected to remain closed through the 2025 season and potentially longer; all camping and shelter reservations have been suspended due to safety concerns."

Apparently the state parks are closed too. " Due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene, most recreation areas at J. Strom Thurmond Dam and Lake are currently closed 1 2 3 .  The closure includes day-use parks, campgrounds, boat ramps, and trails. "
