Greetings:
Having just signed in as a new member, I thought I'd introduce myself and offer a bit of info. Myself , wife and trusty dog Bella got into RV camping when I retired several years ago. At that time I purchased a small but suitable for our purpose RV caled a Roadtrek. We have the Roadtrek 190P which is a Class B 19' motor home on a Dodge chassis. We have enjoyed travelling across the USA and have travelled approximately 55,000 miles in past 3 years.
Whenever we can, we stop at a Military campground and enjoy the security and usually reasonable rates once there. In the past 2 months we have stayed at military RV parks at New Orleans, San Antonio, El Paso, Point Mugu (California) and Albuquerque (NM). We've also experieced ,in past 3 years, great military RV accomodations at Air Force Academy RV Park in Colorado Springs, Ft Huachuca,AZ, Key West FL, Patrick AFB,FL, Ft Gordon,GA, Ft Campbell,TN, West Point ,NY, Mayport,FL, Montgomery,AL and San Diego,CA. If anyone has any desire for info about any of those places, let me know. Our next trip is next week where we will stay a few days at MacDill AFB in Tampa (we have not stayed at that one yet).
We also have spent nights in our RV at a number of Walmart parking lots so can provide info on that experience too if desired.

Welcome Gary! And thanks for the introduction. We've been around RV's all our lives and started fulltiming 2 1/2 years ago. I retired from the USAF in 1998.
Since my hobbies and occupation was(is) computers, and I was frustrated at there not being much reliable and complete information available in military campgrounds, I started this website in January 2006. It's taken off much more than I expected!
When you get a chance, post reviews on the military campgrounds you've visited. During your future travels, you can help keep the information current here by submitting updates to the campground information and by sending in some photos. This website was founded on user participation. We all win, when we all contribute.
