Has anyone stayed at the famcamp at Ft A.P. Hill, VA? If so, does it have a swimming pool? What about some of the other famcamps other than the famcamp in Destin, FL? Any info y'all can give me will be greatly appreciated. I have the Military RV, Camping & Outdoor Recreation book and, though I am not really lazy, I feel I can get better info from you folks. Thanks.

Ft Hill is not a high-end FCG ... is most busy during the hunting season. Small sites and some set-up where the services are not easily connected ... I've done stop-overs there while traveling elsewhere ... I would not spend much time in a row there. Does have CPU access in a small Rec Office ... and has a small laundry as well. Don't specifically know about a pool.
I believe the base is actually inactive -- very small convenience store, not well stocked.

The AP Hill website lists a pool.. it's a large training base.. small staff of "station keepers"..
Map of FamCamp
Exchange & Commissary are 25 mines North on US 301 at Navy Dahlgren..
I have never stayed there but did check it out and it is OK.. bath house (across road from sites) & fair to good sites.. I have stayed in much worse..

OK for overnight stop...not really a place for recreation or amenities....bring extra hoses, you may need longer water and sewer to reach....once I even needed longer cord...
