Actually, my four legged "child" is better behaved and much more fun to be around than either of the two legged, ingrates that their mother raised.

We travel with a dog and two cats and are quite happy. Have never had a problem and I clean up after the dog. I usually take one day a week to clean up her mess. If it looks out of hand I do it more often. If I walk her somewhere I take the little shovel or a bag with me for her waste. And yes she barks at any stranger how comes near our house or knocks on the door but rarely at other dogs or people at a distance like a lot of other dogs I have seen.

I travel with my Quaker Parrot, Mickey. I just have to make sure to have A/C provision at all times and hide her from the border police when arriving in CA. Any other folks out there with traveling birds? If the CG host does not ask me, I don't tell

ACLU is not about to take on campgrounds and their rules on dogs. As a lot owner in a Condo Association Resort we do not allow certain breeds and no cross breeding with them. If found out you are outta there. While I can agree that individuals within those breeds are not hostile or extremely protective their reputation has preceeded them. Sad for those that own the good ones and keep them under control but folks....that is the way it is. If you have a large dog and RV you should ask 1. about size and 2 about breeds and 3 about cross breeds. Remember that in the end of most discussions about rules in campgrounds of any type the campground owns all the cards.

We travel with our new family member, a 7 lb. Brussels Griffon/Maltese mix. We have him paper trained. He does his business inside a cloth foldable cage on paper. When we walk him it is for exercise purposes and only in the roadway. We do not allow him in the grass/weeds. I do carry a plastic bag and napkins just in case. I loves everyone and every dog. He hasn't learned that some BIG dogs could have him for a snack so we keep him on a tight lease around other dogs or we pick him up. Everywhere we go people love to pet him. Most stores say we can bring him in just so they can play with him. I never put him down inside a store. Our overall experience has been excellent.

When we go camping at a military campground please remember that some of us didn't come to listen to your dog bark all the time. I love my pets, but that doesn't mean your pets. Please respect others privacy and keep them on a leash. We camped at Great Pond last weekend and thought we were at a kennel with all the barking and dogs running loose. They were talked too by the staff, but when they left it happen all over again. Did I miss something or isn't following the rules taught in the military anymore?
