Of course, we all have our opinions about different issues here -- and some have even stated no guests should have MCG ...
I personally have no problem with a 'responsible' sponsor bringing guests - family, or whatever, for a specific purpose (birthday party, anniversary, etc). BUT, soon as that happens, sure enough some one will abuse or take advantage of that. A few days, even using the facilities, no problem - a few weeks a month, more time, then I do have a problem.
And it turns out the same situation every time, some people think the rules and guidelines apply to everyone else, but not themselves. Mostly, I term that under 'selfish' and we all pay the price when this happens.

We take guests, sister-in-law and her husband, with us in our RV to Sigsbee KeyWest every year. We all stay in our RV and haul 2 motorcycles. We spend most of our time downtown KW. If we need any supplies then I go to the commissary/exchange. I accompany them everytime we depart/return to the CG. I would never think of bringing guests in another RV no matter how many spaces are open. Making one exception just eventually leads to another and another and another then before you know it the people that earned the privledge are in overflow or a space stuck in a corner or on the main travel path. The way I look at it is it is not just homesteaders or guests taking up spaces but they normally take up the most desireable spaces. I read many retorts about spaces being available but my question is how desireable is the space? Is it next to a ball park, dumpster, busy travel area, or other less desirable location?

I'll bet that the two people on this topic who really oppose guests in military campgrounds take their friends and relatives to the exchange and commissary. Am I right? You know who I'm talking about.

I agree with Mustang that an authorized user should not be turned away while a guest or otherwise unathorized user gets a campsite. I also realize that an unoccupied site is lost revenue to the campground. If a MCG manager can balance those two objectives, I don't have a problem.

Can't be talking about me because I never, I say again, never do that. You didn't earn it, you don't get it through me. Any questions?

Was at Onslow Beach (Camp Lejune) about two years ago.. off season.. place was almost empty.. had a guest next to us.. dad of a Marine there to see his son graduate from a school & visit grand kids..
Last year i was to be traveling bast Onslow Beach with a friend in his rv.. friend is a Marine, former active duty, non retired who had been stationed at Lejune in '67.. I was going to bring him in as a guest..
Both cases had many empty sites.. I say bring on the paying customers if the site is empty..
but not "in season when they are turning people away..
