We have a Golden Access Pass. My husband is a 100% disabled vet and it surprised us how EASY it was to get one! We got ours at Shenandoah National Park in VA. You can get them at ANY National Park and in fact, it's the ONLY way to get one. You can't apply for it by mail. We didn't have to submit any proof or anything (Unlike our NY State Access Pass). You just tell them that you're disabled and they give you your card! In minutes you have your card! And yes, it's called the America the Beautiful card now. We've received discounts at several military RV parks with the card.

It would be nice to have a list of Military CG's that give discounts using the ATB card.

AS a general statement, the Army MCG's often honor the cards, while the AF and Navy often do not. I have no idea why this happens, must be something in the MWR directories for each service...
I have the orignal card from years ago - use it often, and have never been asked to surrender it... at least not yet.
I'd prefer to keep this one, as it has on it "entitled" to the discounts, not MAY have discounts. Doesn't mean much when you present it if the "box-guy" denies discount, but it makes me feel better to have the 'entitled' word in place of the MAY ... but that's just personal and I've carried this one around for som many years it's like a part of my wallet.
And, as usual, similar to our BX when vendors took over, the prices go up, and up, and up, but the overhead to the Feds goes down because they don't hire the employees ... so it appears to be 'less in the budget' when it fact the consumers pay more now. Happens every time vendors take over anything, and will happen with NP and NF if/when vendors take that on too ...

You may check with the Army C/G's. It seems that every one we have been to have recognized them. Some will offer only a couple dollars off, one used to be 50% off, but changed to to a discount from $15 /day to $10 / day.
