New England RV campgrounds

Hey folks>This is my first visit to the website and I am impressed with the volume of information available........with the exception of the New England area. There is nothing there!!!!

I am one of three retired military members who will be traveling to NE May-August in their RVs.

We would like suggestions on what to visit and what military campgrounds are available to stay in.

Surely there are New Englanders who have an inside opinion on that.

Help us out, please.

Rick,

Welcome to the website!

All of the known military campgrounds are listed here, including those in New England. As far as information is concerned, I agree that part fo the country is lacking reports. It's just not as popular as the sunbelt. PLEASE... send us campground updates, photos, and reviews of the military campgrounds you visit. If you find any military campgrounds not already listed here, we DEFINTELY want to know all about them. (I refer to them as "secret" campgrounds, since they're not well known).

there is a CG in New Bedford N.H. I've been there twice. It is hard to find if not aquainted with the area. There were only 12 sites with hook-ups. Elect (30 amp) and water. There is a dump station at the top of the hill. There was a trailer being used as an office, it also had a shower. A lake next to the CG had signs about undetinated bombs. Lots of woods, and they were building a sports field complex. This was in 2003. I live in NH. And had just bought the camper. It was a good shake down.
Manchester is about ten minutes away. Hanscom AFB, (also has a CG.) about 45 minutes.
Hanscom is the perfered CG. because it is on the base with all the facilities.( Hospital, base exchange, ect...) Hope this helps.

Hi Rick,

I'll also be in New England this summer. Plan on staying at the Beaver Dam Campground in Berwick, ME for two weeks in July.

We have stayed at the New Boston Military Campground in NH in the past. Very nice large sites with 30 AMPs and water. Super Wal-Mart just a few miles down the road. If you look in the site listed under the campground tab you will find a picture of our rig just off the pond with a fire going in the ring.

larryf> Thanks for the welcome. I'll definately send a sitrep on the campgrounds we visit on the trip.

FastEagle> We don't have a sked for the trip, but suspect we'll be in Maine sometime in July. If you see two motorhomes and a 5W roll into the campground with three scruffy ex-aviators and their chiefs-of-staff please stop by.

KenB> I've been to Hanscom, but never camped there. That's probably the place we'll stage for that area of coastline.

Thanks for the cg suggestions.
