Good News!

This may be old news to some, but I was recently notified of this. The DOD now has a ID card for Retired DOD Civilians!

You can read more and download the FAQ information here.

Now that DoD civilians are being encouraged to "volunteer" for Geneva Convention type deployments, will the DoD Retired ID grant Space "A, Flight & Billeting" BX and Commissary privileges?

The DOD Retired ID card is just an Identification card - not a privilege card. Privileges haven't changed (that I know of) and are a separate issue.

My wife retired from the DOD Army in 2003 and received a retired DOD card at that time. This is nothing new but some instalations did not issue them. She received hers from FT. LeonardWood, Mo. and like Larry said, it is only a ID card.
