You can't see the shuttle on the pad but you would certainly be able to see it as it goes skyward. Patrick is the very best place to park the RV and then drive to watch the lift off.
Time to revive Patrick AFB...the place is fabulous. MWR/Outdoor rec has numerous trips and adventures for everyone. You get discount passes for the tour of Cape Canaveral (?) and the entertainment spots - great for watching lift offs...everything about the area is great, no matter the time of year..
