GPS Listing

GPS Listing was created by dbowlsby
How many of us have tried to find a campground on the GPS but then have to get to a specific gate for entry. And then the gate area will not let you navigate your rig in order to get the latest rules accomplished such as new ID rules. How about if anytime we get to a base, we record the GPS coordinates of the gate and the conditions of the ID/Gate area where you would have to park to get everything sorted out. I am a Class A towing my van on a dolly which totals 65 ft. I got into a ID site a couple of weeks ago but had to wait until it cleared ou before I could get out. We also had followed the GPS to the Campground and ended up 2 miles away and had to back track. With the closed bases, it makes more sense to GPS the gate we need to get through and then get directions?

I agree 100% and would be glad to include the gate's GPS coordinates in the information listed. However, I need the gate coordinates! I've started collecting them on my trip this winter and will create a section on the campground listings.
I've also learned to use the GPS as a guide, but follow the directions provided on this website and our Directory software. The directions usually tell you which gate to enter.

We read the directions on this website and then always call the campground the day before we plan on arriving. So many changes take place between visits with construction and whatever else they decide to do to create difficulty with entry and with a 45' motorhome and an Envoy being towed we need to know exactly how to enter the campground correctly. Good old phone call sometimes still is the best.

Larry's right about having the directions from here along with your GPS....Our Garmin gets confused sometimes....we've ended up on tank trails instead of a real road in some places....
