Question about rules and DOD

Question about rules and DOD was created by karylkoch
We tried to make a reservation, at KingsBay, and was told we could not get full hook-ups. I think I remember, that if someone with military or retired military, came in, the DOD, would have to move. Do they still do this??? The military campgrounds have been hard to get into lately, so I am wondering if this may be one of the problems. :S

My guess would be the standard rule about who has priority in military campgrounds....it usually goes like this: Active Duty, Military Retirees, DAVPRM, then DOD employees/retirees....So, yes, if you are the only DOD in a filled up military campground and a military retiree or DAVPRM comes into the campground, you probably will be asked to vacate your site. And if the military campground has reservation policy, they do shut off reservations to DOD if they have a big influx of active duty, etc...You are very lucky with the offer of "Over flow" at Kings Bay, some places have no overflow or have these sites filled with the retirees, etc. waiting on a full-hookup spot....
