Travis FamCamp petition drive

Hi, over the past years I've read a number of letters dealing with the couple who run Travis AFB. I've stayed there a number of times, but never had any issues until just a few days ago.

The treatment that I received from Mary was unbelievably rude, authoritarian and downright nasty.

I want to contact people on this site who have has similar unpleasant experiences and take those comments to the MWR staff and lodge a formal complaint.

Is there some way to use this site for a petition drive??

As someone who has stayed at Travis a couple of times over these past few years, I can certainly appreciate your feelings of disgust by the shameful treatment by both Tony and Mary. Use of ICE and visits to the cammander(s) responsible for Outdoor Recreation and even the base have been attempted by various members of this website, all to little avail! I can only offer you "Good Luck" in your attempt to force someone, anyone at Travis to do something about this most unfortunate situation. I do remember someone posting on this site some months ago that Tony had submitted for retirement - I guess that report was untrue! Too Bad:(

What have they done NOW????

tony and mary are the REASONS we have never stayed there-as we also travel with a big (well-behaved, picked up after) dog...don't need stress. (my husband had enuff before retiring for 2nd time) so i would hate to have to 'defend' my husband. it's further but we go to beale! and you can eat at the chow hall there.

We had the same rude, talked down to my wife treatment by Tony. We left the next day as I was ready to punch him out. We have stayed at military campgrounds all over the country and these two people should not be in charge of any thing other than a prison camp. July 2011 the pet owner section has no tree's, bushes and lush green grass as the I hate pet owners section. Then the "you must walk your pet behind the dumpster area" and "if you stray from that area you may have to deal with the Air Police", also "don't walk your pet any where other than the middle of the streets",instructions as if we would not have common sense to pickup after and curb our pet. I talked with one rv owner there and he said most everyone knuckle under so they can stay for extended periods, they let two people do this to them and pay seventeen dollars a day for the humiliation,what a sad situation. We will gladly join any drive to bring this situation to a end.

Has anyone thought to contact your Congresscritter about the rude treatment. I'm sure a few carefully worded letters to one would at least result in a congressional letter to the base CO about "the rude treatment to our honorably retired servicemembers, who dedicated their lives to the defense of our country".
