We stopped in 2 weeks ago and asked about the facilities. The young lady in the office said that other than during shuttle launches the campground is never full.
Location: East Hall Road, east of State Route 3. GPS coords: N28*26.082 W80*39.628 The park is located across the Banana River from the NASA Launch Complex and Port Canaveral.
1) Water/electric hook ups only.
2) Sewer dump on site.
3) Reservations not accepted.
4) 3 weeks maximum stay then the camper must completely leave the park. Extended stay may be granted on a limited basis.
5) Small camp store in the office.
Cost: $15 membership fee. $15/daily and $90/week.
Here's a map of the layout. I've attached a few photos of the place. Don't know how they will come out.

Thanks for this great info!
I had mentioned a couple months ago in my newsletter that KARS was now open to military. However, since it's not "operated" by the military, it's not included in our listings.
Your message will serve as a good reminder to all who ask about it.

The reason we stopped by KARS was due to your notice a few months ago. We figured we'd stop by and get what info we could so we could pass it on.
Maybe someone will find it useful. It's a nice campground but if choosing between KARS and Patrick AFB (Manatee Cove) I definitely go to Patrick. Much nicer and more available. KARS now gives us another option.
I've got more pictures of KARS but no need me tying up space on this site. If someone wants to see more of it I can send it to them direct.
