Fla panhandle was created by airlifter
We would like to travel to the Fla panhandle this winter or early spring. Would it be possible to get a elec/water hookup site at any of the non reservations campgrounds? We will try to get a reservation when we decide when we are going, but wanted to know what might be available elsewhere.
I know that there are no guarentees. Just checking.
Thanks, Pete

Can't speak to the reservation cg's, but I think there are always vacancies at Maxwell-Gunter AFB campground. They take reservations and it is located on the water on Choctawhatchee Bay across from Destin - great waterfront sites. The only down side is the toll bridge to Destin.

Eglin AFB is great too - has one FHU campground and one on the water with W/E only ... have stayed there often and nevre found it full - at least not the waterside CG.

We are staying at the Destin Fam Camp in Destin. Run by Army. Walking to bay. Sites re small for motorhomes. Highly recommend. They take reservations, can stay more than 3 mths. We drove from Pensacola, no toll bridge

We live in P"Cola and have stayed at the Blue Angel Recreation site. Got in same day with a site on the water. Elec and water at site but have a communal dump site for sewer. Bathrooms clean. Must say the area is a bit secluded and "rustic" but otherwise a good value.

Currently at Blue Angle. They have about 15 sites available right now in the Battle ship row campground. Full hook-up, Cement slab, No cable, good Antenna service and some sites you can get sattellite. You can stay for three months. The sites the other guy talked about is on the other side of the park and is all dirt and a mess but it is a little cheaper. 9 miles from Commisary and NEX.
Oak Grove on NAS Pensacola takes reservations up to 3 months in advance.
