Where Is this coming from??? And do you really think I would make a differences!!! I have seen Air Force camp grounds that look like trailer parks. With staff that play favorites with some campers!!!!!
Camp grounds are run by Civics that really know nothing about running a campground and really don't know a dam thing about the military and have nothing vested In the Military. There just looking for the next pay check!!!
My two cents!!!!

My understanding is that USAF is taking over most of the Army campgrounds.

I'm glad I don't go to those military campgrounds that you're describing. The ones I've frequented and there are many, are professionally run and well maintained with few exceptions. Most have retired military members as camp hosts or volunteers. I've seen managers that are retired military. Two close to my home are shining examples of well run campgrounds, Naval Station Mayport and Kingsbay. If military campgrounds were not available, it would definitly have a negative impact on my travels and my pocket book. Just my humble opinion.

Per the Army MWR Command the Air Force is taking over RV camping in all parks where they are in a Joint capacity. My question to the command was, What reg are they going to use, because neither AF or DoD address RV or FamCamps. Only the Army under AR 215-1 does on page 71 (check it out). So for now every place is different and no one cares.

Once again people that still uses the GRAPEVINE!!!! Elisowski, I was to get the name of the person who told you such a story!!! This Is the Email after 2 phone calls so I had something In print!!!! This Is just another part of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)
Question: Outdoor Recreation
Comments:Is there any truth to the Air Force taking over RV camping in all
parks where they are in a Joint capacity.
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Caveats: FOUO
Some joint bases are under Air Force management, some under Army management,
and some under Navy management. Go to
www.aetc.af.mil/library/jointbasing/index.asp for more on joint basing
locations and leads.
At locations were Air Force has the lead, they have management oversight of
all associated base operations including RV campgrounds, and parks.
Thanks
