Holbrook Pond Recreation Area - Hineville, GA was created by RVLifers
We've seen reviews that state that cell service and television is not all that great. Has that changed recently? We're thinking about camping at the Holbrook campground, but since we're full-time RVer's now, we're rather dependant on our cell phones and Internet service.
We also have two small dogs. Are the alligators really a problem there?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Hello, Hammers....
We've been the winter camp hosts for 4 years and can answer your questions..
Here we go....
We also full-time, so the cell service & internet are our life-lines, too. We have Verizon for both and have no issues keeping connected. If you have AT&T you are not going to get phone service in the campground...on main post you will....WiFi should be up and going within the next month.....NO CABLE TV, but over the air digital brings in 9 local channels.....as far as satellite service, DirecTV works the best here in the Georgia Pines, Dishnetwork is do-able, but only in a few sites...but there are some heavy wooded sites that make even DirecTV "iffy"....
Alligators aren't really a problem....we have 4 or 5, but they are between 2ft to 5ft long...and mainly stay in the pond/swamp area....Wild-life folks keep a good eye on them and take our the large ones....this is a recreation area with picnic pavilions, playgrounds, and a dog park...along with the campground...just keep your fur-babies on the leash so they don't wonder out into the woods...as there is an abundance of other wild-life around.
We'll be here until March...hope to see you before we hit the road again...
