HOMESTEADING COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT

I would strongly suggest that everyone who has a issue with Homesteading email: "O'Sullivan, John L NAF (US)" <[email protected]> this is the person who apparently answers all the MWR iCE ISSUES

Maybe we can get something done if we all pull together, Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, Oh yes even Coast Guard.

Homesteading mucks up the whole lot of camp grounds. I know of one instance at Fort Sam where one person has been in the same spot for as long as I've been going through there, which is about 12+ years. He has not moved that old trailer one inch. Supposedly its a medical case but given the time involved, I wonder if its just not pure & simple abuse of the rules and surely those same rules being ignored by the MWR management there. Another at the same base has been in place (now part time camp host) for about 11 years. Although he has medical issues I believe there is another answer to the problem. How healthy can full time, and do I ever mean FULL TIME, really be?

I'm not so sure I'll ever be welcome back at Fort Sam Fam-Camp, but I took your advise & sent my previous post to John O'Sullivan on 8/18/12. Today I received his prompt reply that indicated he had sent the complaint on to one who could ask the appropriate questions about homesteaders there.

The system seems to work but it remains to be seen whether there is a change in how the parks are actually managed in the real world. If this makes a change there should be about 10-15% increase in available sites in that park alone. I just hope I am able to utilize them in the future. :whistle:

Is this Sullivan all ICE issues - or only that one base?

I would stongly suggest anyone with an issue with "Homesteading" look up the definition before they apply the term. I myself am not a long term camper at any installation. I do not have an issue with campers who stay long term, at least the site is bringing in funds. And quite frankly as far as I know, there is nothing illegal about long term stays.
