The FamCamp officially opened for business on May 15th and, we are already at 85-percent occupancy! :woohoo: Several changes are in affect that you all may be interested in! We have added seven (7) FHU pull-through sites for a total of 37 FHU - 30 back-in and seven PT. We still have 12 overflow sites (30 Amp electric only - $10/night) and 10 dry camp overflow sites ($8/night). The dining facility, which did allow retirees in to re-live their glory days is now closed for renovations. The projected opening date is sometime in the future (LOL), possibly in about six months.
One change you may not like is a change in the charge structure – previously, patrons received a free night for each week paid (pay six nights/seventh night free - $140/week). That has changed to pay for two weeks, receive the fourteenth night free ($260/two weeks). Nightly rates remain at $20 a night.
There seems to be some confusion over which gate to use when arriving at EAFB; both the Commercial and Patriot gates are a Monday through Friday only, six am to six pm operation. Should you choose to use the commercial gate after hours/on the weekends, the Security Police will open the gate for you. The Main gate does not have an extreme barrier setup in place, so you may also use that gate 24/7. Remember that when the main gate is the only one open, everyone else entering/exiting the base will be competing for its use. Use your own discretion.
Hope this helps you all. I have notified Larry so that he will update the EAFB facility page.
We at EAFB are looking forward to seeing you all this summer. Drive safely!
