Maybe one of the youngest full timers you know? was created by ShadowScout
HI, I retired in 2009 from the Army after 20 years. I've tried working but I guess I'm spoiled and don't like the 9 to 5 anymore....so here I am. I just bought a 1994 Newmar Dutch Star 34' and will head out soon for my maiden voyage. I will start full-timing at the end of September, but mostly just stay put in Olympia area and head out on the weekends with the kids. I really can't wait until next summer!
I was in the intel field, stationed at Ft. Drum NY, Weisbaden GE, Ft. Lewis WA, South Korea, and Ft. Meade, MD. My hometown is Eugene, OR.

Welcome to the website, and to the world of RV'ing!
We've been traveling fulltime in our motorhome for over 9 years now. We don't own a traditional home anymore, and we're loving every minute of it! We started fulltiming when I was 46 years old and my wife was 43. We used to be the youngest out there on the road.

Hi Teva....glad to see you could make it!!
I see Larry has already welcomed you to the site. He's the Head Honcho around here...the Big Kahuna....the Man with the Plan....the Big Cheese....you get the picture.
All joking aside, Larry does a great job on here .... even if he does have to put up with the assorted bag of idiots we are.
If you need any info, just go ahead and post it. There's a wealth of expertise on here and always somebody who has gone through what you're asking about...especially the world of military retirees!
Besides......we're SOOO much nicer than some of the people on RV.net (I'm bigdaddogg1 on there.)

Welcome to this fabulous website and also to the world of RV'ing. We both retired from the working world at age 52 and started RV'ing a few years later. Have thought about full-timing at least once a year since then but still like to have the home to go back to. Have fun and this is just about the best resource you will use to learn about the military RV'ing lifestyle.

Thanks everybody for your welcoming comments. I am also ShadowScout on RVNet and RVForum.
My first mystery was locating the propane tank. And then I moved in the slide out. Waaaa-la! hahaha.
My maiden voyage is tomorrow. Heading down to Oregon for a few days to show off the new rig to family. I have printed out plenty of checklists "pre ship out". I just hope I can fit it all in!
