Hello All:
My wife and I (30yr retired navy) have been threatening to sell our "too big a" house and buy something on one level and smaller for 5 yrs.. It gets listed next month.. So where to move to??? Stay in NC, move to a new state-where? What do we know about "other" states. (nothing).. We came up with the crazy idea of just buying a new motorhome and "taking to the roads"... The more research we did, the way LESS crazy the idea sounded. So our new home will have headlights. We will soon be placing a build order for our first ever motorhome. Having never even owned a pop-up or gone camping for that matter, will look forward with some anxiety but confidence. No kids, no ties, so now it's time to join all you fine people out there and experience the life style so many of you are really enjoying.. We're anxious, excited, and chomping on the bit to get going. Strangely, having broken the news to several of our closest friends and family, none have said, "that's just crazy"...NONE......
See ya out there!!

Hi Tom and Sylvie! Welcome to the site, and the adventures of RV'ing fulltime!

Looking forward to your updates, photos and reviews of our U.S. Military Campgrounds. Also wishing you a quick (and profitable) sale of your "sticks and bricks" house and a smooth transition to your "wheel estate". :woohoo:

I vote "yes", do it. You will not be disappointed. We researched for approximately for 6 years, and made our purchase mid-March and it's been happy trails every since. I am still active duty, but all 5 of our dependents are 18 and older, and have moved out.

I like the way you two think, made up your mind and went for it. We have been discussing selling our home for the last five years and doubt we will do it in the next five years as we still say when we come home, "boy it is nice to come home again" as we still think of it as our #1 home. The RV lifestyle is lots of fun and the people you meet will be fun and filled with some great stories. Ask any of us you meet in a campground any question or post a question on this #1 website and you will get a variety of answers to help you with your RV lifestyle. Have fun and best of luck to both of you with your new adventures.

Tom and Sylvie, we have been full timing for 6.5 years and love it! We have put over 100,000 miles on our 2004 Country Coach since 2005. The trick is to be flexible and relax and enjoy it. Things happened during our travels but we handled them with no problems and are more confident because of it. When we told our family they did ask why we wanted to do that. We said it was always our dream to travel and not having a home to worry about made it easier. See you on the road soon! Lonny & Diane
