I am retired Special Forces, and now enjoying traveling and camping along the way. Have a great place in Montana, and enjoy escaping most winters. Would love to hear from others on here. Very disappointed already that Fort Bragg, NC is so badly set up for RV'rs.............

Welcome! You'll find very nice military campgrounds, and very bad ones. The reviews on this website help, but opinions still vary.

I just pulled in to Ft Bragg the camp grounds at Smith Lake are pretty nice. Do have a problem with the guests going over the speed limit causing major dust from the road. All and all they have been very accommodating and pleasant. The traffic pattern on Ft Bragg is a total mess as you know if you where assigned here it is a monumental task to provide security access points as there was so many ways to come onto Ft Bragg. I was in the 5th and 10th 1st SF is here now our old team houses are all gone smoke bomb hill doesn't exist as we knew it. Art G

Was at Bragg about 1 month ago. Got a site with no sewer but used the dump station. Found a couple people not VETS or retired staying there I think one of their family was retired and used their ID to get them in. Full hookups were all booked I stayed one week. My wife just had to carry laundry a long way to do wash. We weathered the Hurricane watching Smith lake beaches go under water but we were safe even with the pouring rain. Couldn't visit the museum in Fayetteville cause it was flooded during the storm. The traffic pattern on Bragg is a mess. Took hours to figure out how to get to some of the places I lived and 5th Group old HQ where I was AST. Of course smoke bomb hill and old team houses are long gone.
But, all in all if they didn't have spaces taken up by unauthorized people they might be able to support US. The staff was friendly and courteous while we were there. I found it a pleasant stay before heading for the Smokey Mountains even with the weather.
