Hi All, we are Fulltime5! was created by Fulltime5
Hey everyone. Retired Navy here getting ready to take my wife and three littles on what we hope to be a great American adventure. We head out this Saturday or Sunday and will be traveling in our F150 pulling a 26' Keystone Passport 2650BH.
From Annapolis MD we intend to take I95 to Jacksonville then hang a right along the I10 all the way to Phoenix AZ - and hopefully make it by Thanksgiving to see family.
I could use some help, with the maps down now I am having a heck of a time trying to set up hops from Military Campground to Military Campground along the way. Any old grizzled travelers on here that know the best ones to visit along this route? We'd like ones with FHU and showers if possible, laundry and commissary nearby a huge plus. We hope to do about 250 miles/4-5 hours max a day.
I'm all ears on recommendations - and thanks in advance!
If this isn't the proper place to post this, please let me know and I can re-do it wherever its recommended.

Welcome to the website and enjoy your trip!
I'm sorry the USA and state maps are down. Google starting charging for use of their maps with a "programming interface". I was charged $1700 in the first week for using Google maps! Too rich for my blood on this busy website. I am working to use something else.
Each listing does have a map now, located under the Directions. But you would need to go to each listing to see their map. I'll try to get something working soon for the USA map.

Military Living published a folding paper United States Military Road Map. It has all the military installations and campgrounds. I thinks some exchanges have them or go to

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!

Hi Fulltime!
I just saw your post, so I guess you're already on your way west. There are plenty of military CGs along the Florida panhandle and into New Orleans. From there though, the pickings are kind of slim along I10 all the way to Phoenix. Ft Sam Houston has a nice CG in San Antonio, but it's a long way from there to Ft Bliss - the next military CG along 10. I would suggest that you might want to get a membership to Passport America to fill in the blanks. The PA CGs are usually not new and have few amenities, but if you're only stopping for the night the cost is reasonable (50% off the regular price) and the CGs are usually right off the interstates. Use them only a couple of nights and you've saved enough to pay for your membership fee!
There are no military CGs in the Phoenix area. Luke AFB is building one, but I don't think it's ready yet. Anybody out there know for sure? You're heading out there at the time of the year when all the CGs are starting to fill up with snowbirds for the winter. If you haven't done so yet, you probably need to call around and see what's available. There are some PA CGs around Phoenix, but most of them SAY they don't honor PA during the winter. Ask anyway....LOL
Have a great trip and enjoy yourself. There's a lot to see and do along the way.

The maps on this website are operational again, but be being monitored to insure I don't get a large bill from Google again. Please, only use them if you really need to see the map.
The new FamCamp at Luke AFB hasn't even started construction yet.
